Landmark status to be considered for Echo Park-area office complex; proposed York Boulevard food hall gets public hearing

  • The Cultural Heritage Commission voted to look into granting landmark status to a William Pereira-designed office complex near Echo Park. The decision to take the historic monument nomination under consideration temporarily suspends plans by the owners of the former Metropolitan Water District headquarters to have the Sunset Boulevard office complex torn down to make way for new development.  Curbed L.A.
  • A public hearing will be held today over plans to turn a former York Boulevard warehouse-auto body shop in Highland Park into a 156-seat food hall and bar. The hearing will focus on a request by the owners of York Market to obtain a permit allowing them sell alcohol for consumption on site as well as to-go.  Planning Department
