Man arrested after rooftop chase in Cypress Park [updated]

CYPRESS PARK — A wanted man led police on a chase by jumping from rooftop to rooftop before being arrested in Cypress Park early this morning.

At around 1:40 a.m., officers set up a perimeter near the 3500 block of Arroyo Seco Avenue to capture a man wanted in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon case that took place earlier this year, said Lt. Ryan Schatz with LAPD’s Northeast Division.

The man, a Latino in his 20s, tried to escape police but was arrested in connection with the assault and violating his parole.

Update: Police identified the assault suspect as 25-year-old Nick Anguiano, according to L.A. Now.
