  • An Occidental College professor was allegedly on his cell phone when he was involved in a crash that killed an Eagle Rock motorcyclist, according to a lawsuit filed by the victim’s family. The lawsuit, which also names the college and another defendant, claims that Malek Moazzam-Doula, an assistant professor of religious studies, was on his cell phone when he failed to yield and collided with Victor Chavez at Avenue 42 and Eagle Rock Boulevard near the college. MyNewsLA.com
