Police seek help to find Boyle Heights shooter


BOYLE HEIGHTS — Homicide detectives with the Hollenbeck Division are asking the public to provide any information in connection with a shooting earlier this week that left one man dead and another injured.

54-year-old, Raul Alaniz Jr died after being shot several times inside a converted garage in 900 block of south Bernal Street shortly 4 pm on Monday, July 11. A second male victim, who appeared to have ran for help, was also shot multiple times but he survived. He is currently in stable condition.

Seven other murders have taken place in Boyle Heights this year, according to the L.A. Times.
