Who is Jane and when will she start serving coffee and brunch in Highland Park?

Storefront ReportHIGHLAND PARK — The eastern stretch of York Boulevard is relatively decaffeinated, with the Starbucks near Figueroa Street serving as the only coffee place in the immediate area. But that looks to be changing.  A photo sent to The Eastsider by The New York Boulevard shows a new banner hanging in front of a 1905 bungalow on York near Toledo Street that reads: “Coming Soon! Jane Brunch & Coffee.”

Building permits show that the bungalow is being converted from a single-family home to a restaurant. But there’s no information about the owners. A quick online search turned up zilch on Jane. So, if you have any details about Highland Park’s newest coffee and brunch spot, please send it our way.

  1. Any relation to this Jane from San Francisco?

  2. Not sure if they’re at all related, but there’s a brunch/bakery/ coffee spot with 2 locations in SF by the same name. Main logo on website seems to be same typeface on sign.

  3. Excited for this. The spread of new shops and restaurants needs to spread all the way east on York to Fig. Imagine the corner of York and Fig in 5 years? 10 years? It’s going to be so much nicer.

    • Agreed. That corner has the potential to be the highlight of HLP but as it stands it’s a miserable shopping center with crappy tenants aside from the very good Penny’s. Excited about the growth and hoping it spreads onward.

  4. They are not related to SF JANE.

  5. Can’t wait to hear from the misinformed anti-gentrification crowd how this evil business is spreading the agenda of the white devil with its satanic muffins and colonial egg dishes.

  6. Just passed by and she’s OPEN!!
