  • Fire broke out early this morning in an outdoor storage area behind the 99 Cents Only store in Silver Lake. Firefighters put out the blaze in the 3600 block of Sunset Boulevard in about 20 minutes without injury, said the L.A. Fire Department.  The store was open this morning.  The fire, which was reported shortly before 2 a.m., also damaged an outdoor structure at Cliff’s Edge restaurant next to the discount store.   • A 31 year-old male Latino who was being held in the jail of the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s station died on Saturday after becoming ill.  The inmate, who had been arrested on Thursday  for the possession of marijuana and resisting arrest, died after being transported to a hospital.  The cause of death is unknown, and the case is under investigation.   • Traffic lanes were closed near Perlita Avenue and Silver Lake Boulevard in Atwater Village on Sunday afternoon after an apparent water pipeline break flooded streets, according to the L.A. Fire Department.
