Freight train hits woman in Cypress Park


CYPRESS PARK — A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a freight train tonight, the L.A. Fire Department said on Twitter.

An eastbound Union Pacific train hit the female pedestrian in the 500 block of N. San Fernando Road near the Cypress Park Home Depot. The incident was reported at 9:42 pm.

The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment.

On Monday night, a woman was killed was by a Metrolink train at the Doran Street crossing on the border of Glendale and Atwater Village, according to ABC 7.
