  • The LAPD released more details about an officer involved shooting in Boyle Heights that left a 36-year-old man dead last week. Officers and the suspect, Omar Gonzales, fell to the ground as they were fighting in the 1200 block of Atwood Street.  One of the officers, Eden Medina, fired two rounds at Gonzales after he was seen armed with a loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun, according the police account.   • One of the metal arches of the Sixth Street Bridge was removed this week as part of the demolition of the span connecting Boyle Heights and Downtown L.A. One of the four arches will be saved and installed in a new park that will be created near a replacement bridge. Curbed L.A.
  • A new play,  All My Distances are Long, by Leda Siskind of Silver Lake opened this week in Beverly Hills. The play is about a group of urban high school students facing difficult issues with their therapist and each other.  Broadway World
