Police looking for Lincoln Heights gunman



LINCOLN HEIGHTS — The suspect that police are searching for near Eagle Rock High this morning is connected to  a shooting that took place hours earlier in Lincoln Heights, according to preliminary police reports.

The shooting happened near the intersection of North Broadway and Alta Street near Lincoln High at about 3 a.m. when the suspect fired numerous rounds at the victim’s vehicle, said Officer Rosario Herrera with LAPD Media Relations department. The victim was not struck by the bullets.

The suspect, a male Latino in his 20s, then fled in his vehicle. Officers have located the suspect’s vehicle near Yosemite Drive and La Roda Avenue in Eagle Rock, but the suspect is still outstanding, said Herrera.

Herrera said it is unknown if the incident is gang related. Officers have set up a large perimeter in Eagle Rock, and continue to search for the suspect.
