Lost in Silver Lake: Scared, newly adopted black cat

eastside animals button small

Sleek, all-black female cat with yellow-green eyes escaped her new home the night of September 5th near Blair’s Restaurant on Rowena Avenue in Silver Lake. She is 6 lbs & the shelter thinks she is 3 years old. Microchipped, but no collar or tag.

Adopted just September 4th from North Central Shelter, Rita is a sweet but extremely timid stray. She is small but well-fed. She scaled a wall and pushed open a window screen to get out, so it is possible she is now injured. She is likely hiding in the area. If you see her, do not approach; please email [email protected] with details. Thank you!

  1. Hi, Rita’s owner here. I am sorry for the two different emails in the notice above. But either email is valid!

  2. you might already know this but I would definitely recommend going out at night with a flashlight and looking in any nearby bushes, sheds etc. Usually they won’t go far and you can see their eyes reflecting back at you.

  3. UPDATE: The cat has been found! Thank you.
