Officer-involved shooting leaves one wounded at LA County-USC Medical Center campus [updated]


BOYLE HEIGHTS — One person was wounded during an officer-involved shooting that took place this afternoon on the L.A. County-USC Medical Center campus, according to an LAPD spokesman.

No officers were wounded during the shooting that took place at about 3:30 p.m, said CBS 2. The incident began as a foot pursuit, according to  NBC LA reports.

Update: The suspect, a jail inmate, had escaped after he was taken to the hospital for a medical examination, reports L.A. Now.
