Shopper & Diner: Frogtown & Silver Lake spots make Gayot’s Best 25 restaurant list; WiFi and coffee


Sawyer and by CLOE  in Silver Lake and Salazar in Frogtown made Gayot’s list of the “Best 25 Restaurants in Los Angeles to Eat Right Now.” Sawyer serves up small plates and seafood; by CLOE in 365 by Whole Foods features vegan fare, and Salazar’s “stellar tacos” have taken the taco world by storm. Sawyer is located in the 3700 block of Sunset Boulevard; by CHLOE. is located in the 2500 block of Glendale Boulevard; Salazar is located in the 2400 block of Sunset Boulevard.

  • The upcoming Botanica in Silver Lake is down to the studs, Eater LA reports. Expected to open sometime in 2017, Botanica is a multi-faceted spot that serves as both a food publication and a restaurant that the owner said will be inspired by the likes Chez Panisse, Bar Tartine and Gjusta, The Eastsider reported in June. Boyle Heights’ La Mascota Bakery is located in the 2700 block of Whittier Boulevard. Silver Lake’s Café Vita is located in the 4400 block of W. Sunset Boulevard.
