EL SERENO — It has been nearly two years since Richard Duardo, who was involved in Highland Park’s Chicano art scene during the 1970s and founded Lincoln Heights-based Modern Multiples Fine Arts Studios, died in his sleep. Now, Cal State L.A. is holding an exhibit that features Duardo’s work and contributions.

Richard Duardo, Artist and Master Printmaker at the Cal State LA Fine Arts Gallery includes Duardo’s own artwork as well as the prints he made for other artists during his four-decade career as a master printmaker.

The exhibition runs through Nov. 2. An opening reception featuring actor and Chicano art collector Cheech Marin, who collaborated with Duardo on several projects, is scheduled to be held on Monday, Oct. 10 from 4 pm – 8 pm. Here is more exhibit and gallery information.
