Two persons injured in rollover crash on Sunset Boulevard [updated]

ECHO PARK — Two persons were sent to the hospital following a rollover crash this morning that sent one vehicle into the drive-thru lane of a fast food restaurant immediately east of Echo Park.

Photos posted on Twitter showed that one of the vehicles ended up in the drive-thru of the Jack-in-the-Box at the corner of Sunset and Beaudry Avenue. The other vehicle, which appeared to belong to the Dodgers based on a Facebook photo,  came to rest upside down on the sidewalk near the restaurant.

An L.A. Fire Department spokeswoman had no information on the condition of the victims or the cause of the crash, which occurred at about 8 a.m.

UPDATE: A Dodger security employee was in the vehicle that flipped over after being rear-ended, according to a team spokesman.  “He is okay and was released” from the hospital, said the spokesman.

  1. Yikes! Thank God everyone is OK! My car was totaled in a hit-and-run at that same intersection about two years ago. Not sure what should be done to make it safer, but people do fly through that light coming East on Sunset there. Be careful people!
