  • An independent monitor says the L.A. DWP needs to refund at least $67.5 million to customers to cover overbilling. That amount is substantially above the $44 million the utility agreed to pay under a class-action lawsuit. L.A. Times
  • The head of the California State University, which includes Cal State L.A. in El Sereno, said the statewide system will not help federal authorities enforce immigration and deportation policies unless forced to by law. Chancellor Timothy P. White made the statement in response to President-Elect Donald Trump’s proposals to deport millions of undocumented immigrants and repeal President Obama’s presidential order that protects hundreds of thousands of young people from deportation.
