East L.A. shooting leaves one man dead, two wounded

EAST LOS ANGELES – One man was killed and two were wounded during a Saturday night shooting outside a convenience store in the 4100 block of E Cesar Chavez Street.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said Juan Carillo Ortiz, 18-years old, died after being struck multiple times in the torso. The other victims, two male Latinos, ages 66 and 19, were struck in the abdomen. Both are in fair condition, according to an LASD statement.

The shooting took place at about 6 p.m. No information was available about the suspects or motive.
