Election Day Watch: Long lines and muffins await Eastside voters

At Elysian Heights Elementary this morning, an hour-long wait was reported as voters  waited patiently outside a classroom to cast their ballots. It’s probably going to be a common experience for voters today, the culmination of a heated presidential campaign. But those who wait to cast their ballot will not only earn good citizen points, they will also be eligible to enjoy perks and freebies – including muffins! – being offered by merchants and groups

We’re going to be updating this post throughout the day with voter information, news, freebies and social media photos and election observations submitted by readers. You can submit your info via email, in the comments section our online form. Happy Election Day!

  • Can’t find your polling place?  Go to LAVote.net to find out where to vote and view copies of sample ballots. Polls close at 8 p.m.
  • The city is relaxing parking enforcement today within a block of polling places within the City of Los Angeles. Street cleaning and permit-parking restrictions won’t be enforced and parking will be free at meters. But you will get a ticket for parking in front of fire hydrants and blocking driveways. L.A.
