We asked our readers what they were thankful for this year. Here are their replies:

Living in the house that my parents bought in 1939 and lovingly cared for until they passed in 1997.

— C.J. Richards, Echo Park/Rampart

My memories and those that will continue to be made as long as my mind stays somewhat alert…on the path to Alzheimer’s and everyday I’m aware, is a blessing…

— P. Spurlock, Eagle Rock

The beautiful days after the rain and air quality, and, of course, family and friends.

— J. Spencer, Eagle Rock

I‘m thankful for all my passionate, good-hearted friends who cherish the beauty of diversity and individuality in all of us.

— Diane McDonald, Los Feliz

Im most thankful for good health, as it is the highest form of personal wealth.

— Shiny Diamond, Silver Lake

I am thankful to have lived in Atwater Village & Silver Lake for over 40 years enjoying a wonderful oasis in Los Angeles. I’m moving out of state and leave the multitude of coffee houses, crazy drivers and the DWP to the rest of you to deal with.

— C. Pettro, Silver Lake

My happy bird & butterfly friendly garden! I’m particularly thankful for all the Monarch Butterflies who lay eggs on my Milkweed plants, enabling me to raise their baby caterpillars indoors and contribute to rejuvenating the Monarch population!

— Sandy Driscoll, Silver Lake

I‘m incredibly grateful for the love of my two daughters who support me nearby and from afar during a time when I’m chronically ill and often unable to do some things for myself. I am also thankful for the comfort and fun of my two loving kitties.

— L. Mann, Echo Park

I am thankful that our 16 year old Laika rescue Loki is still having a good life.

— M Z, Echo Park

I am MOST thankful for my fun and caring neighbors, including ones who have moved half way across the world and still pop in for a surprise visit when they are in town. And I am thankful that maybe I did something right to deserve them.

— Mary Garrison, Echo Park
