Man shot dead in East L.A.

EAST LOS ANGELES — A man was fatally shot in the 3800 block of Whittier Boulevard tonight, said the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting took place at about 6 pm in the 3800 block of Whittier Boulevard. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

No further information was available.

Before today’s killing, 13 people had been murdered in unincorporated East Los Angeles during the past 12 months, according to the L.A. Times Homicide Report.
