  • A building permit has been issued to convert a store at 5638 N. Figueroa St. in Highland Park into a 1,769-square-foot restaurant that will be open from 7 am to 11 pm. The permit does not identify the restaurant operator. But if you know, please submit your tip here.
  • An Eastsider reader reports that her car window was shattered and the vehicle ransacked this weekend while parked in the 2000 block of Hyperion Avenue on the border of Silver Lake and Franklin Hills. “This is the second time in 4 months,” she said. 1. We can solve two problems with one solution here. Allow homeless people to sleep in their cars all night… but only around the church of scientology.

    • Haha – great solution! Although, the voter initiated $1.2 billion for 10,000 units sounds like a GIANT waste of money. At $120,000/unit, I have to imagine there are more affordable ways to produce housing AND provide more of it…gotta love when government bureaucrats get into real estate development and waste other people’s money.

    • Absolutely! Genius!

  2. I’ll go out on a limb here & assume the election results in that precinct were due to people of Armenian descent who are still stuck in the previous century & anti-Communist politics. (And didn’t realize/wouldn’t admit Trump is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Russia.) But we can probably blame Scientologists too; Trump seems like their kind of guy, a real L. Ron Hubbard.
