  • The LAPD is asking the public for help to find Travis Joel Peterson, a 40-year-old Los Feliz resident and music video producer who was last seen on Dec. 30 at a gas station in La Canada-Flintridge. His wife, artist Emilie Halpern, told L.A. Weekly that her husband may have gone for one of his frequent drives on Angeles Crest Highway after stopping at the gas station. Peterson drives a 2002, silver Volvo wagon.
  • Former Boyle Heights affordable housing developer Maria Cabildo has become the 12th person to enter the race to replace 34th District Congressman Xavier Becerra, who has been nominated to serve as State Attorney General. Cabildo, who lives in Eagle Rock, had headed developer East Los Angeles Community Corporation before leaving to become chief of staff for county Supervisor Hilda Solis. L.A. Times
  • Billy Joel is scheduled to play his first-ever show at Dodger Stadium on May 13. Concert promoter Live Nation announced the show almost a year after the Dodger’s owners teamed up with entertainment and music industry  executives Tim Leiweke and Irving Azoff to bring major acts to the ballpark.   • Officials are seeking volunteers to participate in the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count on Jan. 24 – 26. About 7,500 persons are needed to conduct the count. KPCC
