Juvenile injured in possible gang-related shooting in Boyle Heights

BOYLE HEIGHTS — Police are searching for suspects who shot a minor Sunday night in what is believed to be a gang-related shooting.

Police responded to a call of a shooting at about 11:50 p.m. in the 3700 block of Union Pacific Avenue on the southern edge of Boyle Heights, said Officer Jenny Houser with LAPD’s media relations department.

An underage male was found at the scene with gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The minor was walking down the street when he was approached by a vehicle and shot by what police believe to be two suspects, said Houser. Police believe the shooting was gang related.
No suspects have been apprehended in relation to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
