Man fatally shot in Ramona Gardens – Boyle Heights

BOYLE HEIGHTS — A man was found dead from a gunshot wound in the Ramona Gardens housing project Saturday afternoon, police said. No suspect is in custody, and the victim’s identity has not yet being released, police said today.

Police have only identified the victim as a 23-year-old Hispanic male.

The LAPD said a call was received at about 2:30 p.m. of a shooting near Murchison Street and Lancaster Avenue, with the victim down. Police said he was already dead when they arrived.

Police said they have no information on whether gang affiliation played a part in the shooting.

The incident is being investigated by Hollenbeck LAPD Homicide Detectives.
