Millie’s in Silver Lake changes size and customers – but remains the same

Storefront Report

SILVER LAKE— An influx of European tourists is one of the reasons that prompted Millie’s Café to expand, LA Weekly reports. But the expansion didn’t stop Robert Babish – who has owned Millie’s for 16 years – from lamenting over the good ol’ days.

“It was better before, mostly hipsters, but they moved,” Babish said in the LA Weekly story.

What was added? Storage and 12 more tables. Beyond that, though, it still offers distinctly L.A. diner cuisine – such as the chilaquiles Benedict, gluten-free waffles and a vegan ruben sandwich.

Millie’s is located in the 3500 block of Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake.
