Outage leaves more than 2,000 without power in Silver Lake

SILVER LAKE — An estimated 2,144 LADWP customers in the Silver Lake area have lost electrical service tonight, according to agency spokeswoman Carol Tucker. It’s not clear what caused the outage, which was first reported around 5:25 pm, she said.

The L.A. Department of Water Power outage page estimates that full service won’t be restored until 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Silver Lake residents who live near W. Silver Lake Drive and the 1400 block of N. Occidental Boulevard report they have lost power.

  1. Yep, we’re here on Angelus, and our entire hill is dark. Weird that this happened now and not during a storm.

  2. Has LADWP released a reason for what caused the outage yet? We called last night and they couldn’t give any information.

  3. I still don’t see any reason for this significant outage. It would be great if The Eastsider could follow up.
