SILVER LAKE — A pickup truck rolled over on Hyperion Avenue Saturday night after getting bumped by another car pulling into traffic, police reported. There were no injuries.
“Just a couple of scrapes and that was it,” said Sgt. Kevin Custard of the LAPD Central Traffic Division.
The truck – a 2005 Toyota Tundra – was traveling northbound on Hyperion near Lyric Avenue at approximately 9:10 p.m. with three passengers along with the driver. A 2005 Infinity containing one person pulled away from the curb, knocking the truck, Sgt. Custard said.
There were no arrests. Alcohol was not a factor, police said.
Regina R., who tipped The Eastsider off to the crash in n the 2000 block, said traffic had to be shut down both ways until after midnight as the truck was cleared away.
This winding stretch of road has a number of small businesses, including Hyperion Theatre and Kid’s World School.
“We need more safety on this street filled with kids going to and from Marshall [High School], [Thomas Starr King Middle School], and the various kid daycares,” Regina R. said. “Not to mention all the residents walking their kids and dogs.”
