BY LUCY GUANUNA

EL SERENO — Police continue to search for a murder suspect this morning following an hours-long standoff that resulted in the arrest of the suspect’s cousin at an El Sereno home, reports NBC LA.

The SWAT standoff to capture the murder suspect in the 4400 block of Maycrest Avenue started at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Officer Aareon Jefferson with LAPD media relations told The Eastsider.

According to NBC, the murder suspect’s cousin exited the home at around 11 p.m. and was detained for questioning. He was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant at around 2:50 a.m., said Jefferson.

The standoff lasted until around 3 a.m. when SWAT officers entered the home to find that nobody was in the home, reports NBC.

The suspect is still outstanding. The suspect is connected to a homicide that took place in January but Jefferson had no further information about the killing.

  1. They didnt find the murder suspect, but they sure fired a lot of ammo after 1am (both lethal rounds and teargas), left bullet holes in the front window (in a home where children live), and completely trashed the contents of the home.
