Proposed Silver Lake townhouses up for review; Councilman O’Farrell a no-show at candidate forum

  • A developer is seeking city permission to carve up a lot at 716 N Lucile Avenue to build a trio of 3-story townhomes with rooftop decks. A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1. Planning Department
  • Councilman Mitch O’Farrell failed to appear at a Monday night candidate forum for those running in the Council District 13 race, L.A. Times reporter Emily Alpert Reyes said on Twitter. A member of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, which was one of the sponsors of the forum, told the audience that O’Farrell had a conflict. That met with “lots of boos” from the crowd. The election will be held on March 7.

  1. I sure hope Eastsider will report on the CD 13 Forum held last night. In addition to the news that O’Farrell was a no-show.

    May I suggest that the Editor’s request for people to take notes at public meerings be placed in a more prominent place? In fact, maybe in several different sections of Eastsider?

    • Yes! I totally agree! How are we supposed to make a decision if we did not attend the forum? We can read up but nothing gives insight for our vote as to see a debate. If the forum occurred, it should be recorded for all to see, not just the few who could make it at dinnertime on a school/ work evening.
