Woman killed crossing El Sereno street [updated]

El SERENO — A pedestrian was killed Wednesday evening after she was struck by a vehicle in the 5200 block of Alhambra Avenue, police said.

There are conflicting reports about what happened. KTLA and others say that the crash that left a 30-year-old mother dead and her 2-year-old boy injured was a hit-and-run. But officer Jenny Houser with LAPD media relations said this morning that incident was not a hit-and-run but had no further details.

The woman was struck at about 6:45 p.m. while crossing Alhambra Avenue near Endicott Street, police said. It appear she threw or dropped her baby boy just before she was hit, said KTLA. The child was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Update: The LAPD later determined that the crash, which involved two vehicles, was a hit-and-run. Officers are asking the public’s help to find the driver that fled the scene.

Don’t I find it strange that the debris has been swept up into a pile? That might of tampered with evidence in the hit and run.

Anyways, may that woman rest in peace.
