SILVER LAKE — A developer is planning to build a 48-unit apartment building at the northwest corner of Silver Lake Boulevard and London Street, according to the Planning Department.
Demitri Samaha with 237 WINDWARD LLC is requesting city permission to build a project that is more dense than current zoning would normally allow in return for setting aside six of the apartments for tenants with very low incomes, according a Planning Department summary. The remaining 42 units would be rented at market rates.
Samaha is president of A.J. Khair, a real estate development and construction firm. The Khair website shows a rendering of the four-story apartment building with what is described as a saw tooth facade. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter but the project is still subject to public hearings.
