Shopper & Diner: Mixed Company comes to Silver Lake; Eagle Rock’s newest Italian eats; that ’70s showroom


The Silver Lake dining scene is in for Mixed Company, Eater LA reports. Slated to open in April, the restaurant is situated next to the Black Cat and is set up with an open kitchen, bar, 120 seats and a super cool mural comprised of numerous colors and lines that will grab most drivers attention heading west on Sunset. No mention of what’s on the menu yet. Mixed Company is located in the 3900 block of Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake.

  • Italian eats are heading to Eagle Rock by way of two key players in Silver Lake’s dining scene: Marshall Blair, who has owned Blair’s in Silver Lake for nearly 15 years, and Blair’s chef Christopher Washburn, Eater LA reports. The restaurant takes over the out-of-commission Halong Bay Vietnamese restaurant. No name has been announced. It will be located in the 1900 block of Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock.
  • Nico & Bullit’s ’70s throwback to fashion and design is making its mark in Echo Park, the Los Angeles Times reports. The retail and gallery space offers pieces from local designers such as Echo Park artists Jen King Studio and Black Mountain Ceramics, Lykke Wullf, Miracle Eye and Cameo Clothing. You’ll also find vintage-inspired lights, paintings, print, linen, books, retro clocks and basically anything else that is representative of the era. Nico & Bullit is located in the 2200 block of Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park.
