Top places to go for brunch, coffee-less drinks at coffee shops; and vegetarian cuisine

Four of Los Angeles’ best brunch spots are located on the Eastside, according to Eater LA. These include Red Herring in Eagle Rock for its tranquil vibe and airy second floor, Trois Familia with its French-Mex mix, Café Birdie in Highland Park for its scrambled eggs, and Jean Collins and Winsome for its whimsical vibe.

  • Dinosaur Coffee made LA Weekly’s rundown of “The Best Non-Coffee Drink at L.A.’s Coffee Shops.” Try the changing line-up of sodas and health drinks. Dinosaur Coffee is located in the 4300 block of Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake.
  • Elf Café in Echo Park is one of the “Five Best Vegetarian Restaurants in LA,” according to Travelers Today. The long-standing Echo Park eatery earned the mark for its budget-minded Middle Eastern-to-Mediterranean menu, chill vibe and curated wine list. Elf Café is located in the 2100 block of Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park.
