Boyle Heights shooting victim dies

BOYLE HEIGHTS — One of the four persons who was shot early Saturday morning near the Ramona Gardens housing project has died in what is being described as a gang-related crime, police said today.

The victim, a 33-year-old male Latino who was shot multiple times, died after being taken to a hospital, said LAPD spokeswoman Norma Eisenman.  The  three other victims — a woman and two males —  were either grazed or received non-life-threatening wounds to the extremities.

Police said the four people were at the corner of Murchison Street and Lancaster Avenue at about 3:45 a.m. when a sedan drove up, possibly driven by two males.

The suspects remain at large, Eisenman said.

It’s the second fatal shooting this year near Ramona Gardens.
