It took firefighters about two hours to control a brush fire that broke out this afternoon in the steep hills of Debs Park.
The fire, which began at about 3:45 p.m., burned about 15 acres near Monterey Road and Via Marisol. No homes were threatened and no injuries were reported, according to the L.A. Fire Department.
Firefighters on the ground were being assisted by water-dropping helicopters.
