EL SERENO — Replicas of parrots, winged lizards and Sponge Bob took flight into the bright blue skies above Ascot Hills Park on Sunday for the 7th Annual Kite Fest.
Event organizers provider free kites but many of the people who lined the dirt trails of the 93-acre park brought their own. In addition to kite flying, the festival, sponsored by the LA-32 Neighborhood Council, included dance performances, live music and activity booths at the bottom of the hilly park. Aurelio Jose Barrera hiked up and down those hills to bring you these photos.
