Man found shot dead on East L.A. sidewalk

EAST LOS ANGELES — Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man near his home Monday night.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a gunshot victim call at about 8:36 p.m. on the 6600 block of Hereford Drive, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The deputies discovered the victim on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim left his residence after a brief argument with family members. Shortly after, a gunshot was heard to the west of the victim’s residence. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no suspect information available at this time. The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available.

The killing is the third so far this year in East Los Angeles, according to the L.A. Times.
