Possible expansion in the works for Cliff’s Edge in Silver Lake

SILVER LAKECliff’s Edge, one of neighborhood’s most upscale restaurants, appears to be planning a major expansion, according to a filing with the Planning Department.

The restaurant at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Edgecliff Drive is seeking a permit to allow the sale of a full line of alcoholic drinks “with the expansion of the existing restaurant,” says a Planning Department case summary. The expanded restaurant will have 5,493 square feet and 245 seats. The current restaurant building has about 2,700 square-feet of space and a seating capacity of 164, according to online city records.

Would the expansion take place in the parking lot or encroach on Cliff Edge’s popular, tree-shaded patio, where celebrities like Jennifer Aniston have been spotted? The Eastsider has contacted Cliff’s Edge for more details.

Cliff’s Edge is one of several neighborhood businesses and ventures owned or controlled by Silver Lake businesswoman Dana Hollister.

  1. I was just there Saturday night. The food is still really good and they have stepped up their once lazy service. Even added a full time somalier!

I would bet they are adding to the back/ side of the property they already own…not to the inside. Every time I go the outside part is full and the inside tables are empty

  2. Develop that parking lot, and redevelop that 99 cent store and develop that 99 store parking lot too.. there’s no place for any of that garbage on sunset.

The restaurant as is, has seats for 150+ people and 20+ in staff, that parking lot has room for about 12 cars. What the hell is the point?

    • That side of sunset has always been scuzzy. I don’t think the 99 cent store did in the glamour and prestige of East Sunset Blvd.

  3. They already have a full liquor license…love that place though!!
