The Boyle Heights Young Adult Program focuses on real world skills that are relevant to students’ pursuit of college and career readiness and serves students ages 16 to 25. The academic program emphasizes literacy across all disciplines by featuring cross-curricular units centered on issues of local and regional importance. These units give students the opportunity to explore current issues that affect their lives and their surroundings by engaging with the community. Students learn how to advocate for local interests and are empowered to become change agents in their community.

In addition to academics our program offers multiple work readiness certifications. These programs provide students with skills that they can take with them to the work place, and provides them access to potential employment opportunities. Students are enrolled in our College readiness course that prepares them for the next steps in seeking higher education.
