L.A. homelessness jumps 20% even as more housing is provided

The number of people living on the streets or in shelters in the City of Los Angeles spiked 20% despite the relocation of thousands of formerly homeless residents into permanent housing, according to the L.A. Suspect arrested in killings of Lincoln Heights women [updated]

LINCOLN HEIGHTS —  A man suspected of killing and sexually assaulting two Lincoln Heights women six years ago has been arrested with the help of DNA evidence, the LAPD announced today. CYPRESS PARK — Residents are being advised to stay inside as police search for an armed robbery suspect. The LAPD has sealed off the area near Cypress and Thorpe avenues as they conduct a search. Boyle Heights pre-dawn shooting leaves one injured

BOYLE HEIGHTS — A shooting early this morning along South Bernal Street left one person injured.
