Morning Report

  • The city has received a $2 million grant to develop plans to turn a section of the former Taylor Yards railyard in Glassell Park into 41 acres of parkland and greenspace next to the L.A. River, reports Curbed L.A. The city purchased the property for nearly $60 million earlier this year as part of efforts to restore the river. But the entire cost of turning the property into parkland, including cleaning up toxic soil as well as the land purchase, could top $250 million.
