From alt-comedy to traditional stand-up, there is something for everyone in search of a night of comedy and humor on the Eastside. The guide below will help you figure out what to expect.

Friendship Buddies Comedy Show
Sunday nights | Glassell Park

T.V. writer and comedian Luke Giordano hosts the weekly open mic on the back patio of the Verdugo Bar on Verdugo Road.

Hot Tub With Kurt & Kristen
Monday nights | East Hollywood

Comedian Kurt Braunohler and comedian and actress Kristen Schaal host the weekly variety show featuring comedians, music artists and the “occasional oddity” at the Virgil on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Pointless Comedy
2nd & 4th Sundays | Los Feliz

Features comics who appear on late-night shows, perform at colleges and tour the country, as well as some of the best improv teams showcasing at top theaters like Upright Citizens Brigade and Second City.

Sleeping With Comedy
Multiple nights | El Sereno

Sleeping With Comedy hosts a number of shows — including SINprov: Improve Sketch Stand Up and the Sleeping with Mark and Albert Comedy Show — at Holy Grounds Coffee & Tea on Alhambra Avenue.

The Business
Monday nights | Echo Park

This weekly stand-up show became a hit in San Francisco before moving south to Los Angeles in 2014 to take up residence at Little Joy Cocktail Lounge every Monday night. Admission is free.

The Last Show
Third Tuesday of the month | Silver Lake

The Last Show is a monthly comedy show at The Friend Bar in Silver Lake. Andy and Carolyn very much believe every show may be their last. And they’re treating it as such. Come celebrate the good times OR join in our open pessimism. Whichever way you party, it’s The Last Show!

The Open Mic Ordinaire
Thursday nights | Atwater Village

Local comics, Keven Scotti and Robert Adam, host the weekly open mic in the basement of Oeno Wine Shop on Glendale Boulevard. The online open mic list fills up fast!
