There are several 4th of July related fireworks shows, concerts and even a parade taking place over this extended holiday weekend. But there are plenty of other events as well that don’t involve skyrockets and loud booms.

Clarinetist James Sullivan performs the U.S. premiere of the John Scott Clarinet Quintet with the Edendale Ensemble at Edendale Library in Echo Park. At the Atwater Village Theatre, Debra Jo Rupp from “That ’70s Show” plays a baker tasked with making a cake for a same-sex wedding. In Glassell Park, The Friendship Buddies Show features a roster of stand-up comedians.
