Lincoln Heights shooting leaves man wounded [updated]


LINCOLN HEIGHTS — Police remain at the scene of a shooting this morning that left one man injured.

Officers responded to Manitou Avenue and Daly Street at about 6:30 a.m. after receiving calls of shots fired, said Sgt. David Wang with the LAPD Hollenbeck Division.

Officers found a man with gunshot wounds, possibly in his back, Wang said. The victim has been transported to the hospital. Details of the victim, the suspect or suspects and of what prompted the shooting remain unclear.

Detectives are en route to the scene of the shooting.

Update @ 1:39 PM:  Police say the victim is expected to survive but is unable to give a statement at this time. CBS2 reports the man was riding a bike near the Lincoln Heights Recreation Center when he was fired upon.
