Lincoln Heights shooting leaves one dead

LINCOLN HEIGHTS — Police are investigating a suspected gang-related shooting in Lincoln Heights Tuesday afternoon that left one man dead.

At about 3 p.m., police were called to the 1800 block of North Johnston Street where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the head, said Officer Aaron Jefferson with LAPD’s Media Relations. The suspect, a Latino male 25-30 years old, fired at the victim numerous times before fleeing on foot.

The victim, a male Latino 25-35 years old, died at the scene, said Jefferson. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
