Boyle Heights shooting leaves man wounded


BOYLE HEIGHTS —  Police are searching for the suspect in a Tuesday night shooting that left a man suffering with numerous gunshot wounds.

Patrol officers responded to a radio call of shots fired at about 11 p.m. near the 300 block of N. Mathews Street, said Sgt. David Torres with LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division. When officers arrived, they found the victim on the ground suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. The victim, a man between 26 and 28 years of age, was transported to the hospital He is in stable condition.

The suspect, a Latino male whose age is unknown, approached the victim and fired numerous rounds. The details of the shooting remain unclear, and it is unknown what lead to the shooting and if the suspect fled in a car or on foot, said Torres.
