Suspicious package triggers Echo Park street closure

ECHO PARKNorthbound Glendale Boulevard at Montana Street was closed for about 90 minutes today as police checked out a suspicious package.

An LAPD bomb squad vehicle was on the scene and police caution tape was draped on the sidewalk near The Semi-Tropic bar and cafe. One reader said Lake Shore Avenue had also been closed and the KFC restaurant had shut down.

But by about 1 pm police had reopened the streets and the bomb squad left the scene apparently without incident. No further details were available.
