Man killed in Boyle Heights car-to-car shooting


BOYLE HEIGHTS – A man was killed in a car-to-car shooting Saturday night near the I-5 onramp by the State Street Recreation Center.

The victim, a 35-year-old Latino man, was in his car in the area of Bailey and N. State streets at about 10 p.m. when he was struck by a round fired by someone in a dark-colored vehicle, according to Lt. Marla Ciuffetelli of the LAPD Hollenbeck Division.

Police have not released the victim’s identity, and have no description of a suspect.

Police are asking for the public’s help in the investigation, Ciuffetelli said. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Hollenbeck LAPD at (323) 342-4100.
