SILVER LAKE — About 1,000 LADWP customers are without power tonight, with some residents saying they have gone without service for about 24 hours.
Power is expected to be fully restored by 11 pm tonight, the according to the LADWP outage information page.
The Eastsider has contacted the agency for more details.
Update @ 9 pm: Power has been restored to all customers, said LADWP spokeswoman Vonda Paige.
Update @ 8:32 pm: LADWP spokeswoman Vonda Paige said the exact cause of the outage is unknown but the problem is related to an underground cable. The agency is bringing in a portable transformer to provide electrical service until the problem is resolved.
“We are hoping to have [power] restored later tonight,” she said. “Customers have been really patient.”
