SILVER LAKE — The man who was involved in a rollover car crash Thursday night in the 1400 block of N. Westerly Terrace has died from his injuries, police said today.

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Joseph Centeno.

Centeno’s vehicle rolled over following a collision that took place at about 9 pm on July 20, said Officer Ed McGowan with LAPD’s Central Traffic Division. Centeno was trapped in the vehicle and was rescued by firefighters before being transported to a hospital. Centeno sustained blunt force trauma to the chest and head and died of his injuries at about 1 a.m.

An investigation to find out what lead to the rollover is currently underway,  McGowan said.

A friend of the family said Centeno lived in Silver Lake and was the father of a six-year-old girl. Go Fund Me campaigns have been set up to help cover Centeno’s funeral costs and to help support his daughter.
