$50,000 reward approved to help solve fatal El Sereno shooting,

EL SERENO – A $50,000 reward related to the fatal shooting last December of 25-year-old Victor Duenas, Jr. has been unanimously approved by the City Council.

Duenas was standing on the front porch of his home on the 4700 block of Grey Drive on December 7, 2016 at approximately 7:35 p.m. when someone on the street opened fire on him, according to the motion. Duenas fled into his house, but was fatally shot in the back as he made it into his living room.

“What happened to the victim is an especially disturbing crime,” the motion states, “and therefore, as a matter of public policy, the City hereby offers a reward as an added inducement for persons to come forward with information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shooting of Victor Duenas, Jr.”
